Mindfulness, Wellness, Somatic Facilitation & Loving Presence

"The basic task of helping professionals in general, and psychotherapists in particular, is

to become full human beings, and to inspire full human Beingness in others who feel

starved about their lives.”

~Chogyam Trungpa

What is Mindfulness, Wellness and Somatic Facilitation? how does this type of session unfolds?

During your first appointment with me, we will go over your intake forms and discuss your goals, needs and intents for our work together. Once we have delineated these, we will start our journey.

Each session, we will reassess where you are and check in. Then you will lay on the massage table (fully clothed) and we will start our inner journey. I may use other technics like Craniosacral, Reiki, Trager Therapy, Acupressure or Energy Medicine to ease you into relaxation and into your body combined with breathing technics and visualization. Then we observe what is arising in the body in the present moment by using mindfulness.

  • It is often helpful to close our eyes.

  • We prepare to slow down and become quiet.

  • We turn our attention inward towards our present experience.

  • We watch that experience without doing anything to disturb or change it.

  • We continue watching as our experience unfolds.

  • We report back to the therapist what is happening in the present moment in the form of a running commentary while staying in mindfulness.

  • We observe and comment on whatever is happening rather than expecting something to happen: there is nothing to do other than observe and report.

  • Our commentary is descriptive rather than evaluative.

  • If some other parts “hitchhike” on the observer, we then observe that part.
